1- My carbs & fat are always lower, but protien higher than what is recommended. Is this a big deal?
Daily average = 1200 calorie goal
Carbs - short 53
Fat - short 5
Protien - over 41

2- The cleansing program my husband & I have been on, required us to give up coffee  ... now that we are almost done with the cleanse cycle, I want to add coffee back into my daily routine/diet...(I drink it black)... will this have an effect on my metabolism or have any bad side effects?

    1. I guess that depends on how much lower the carbs and fat are and how much higher the protein is. Traditionally, high protein foods are worth more calories.

    2. Again that would depend on how much coffee and whether or not the coffee was decaf or not. If you drink 1 cup of coffee a day, I wouldn't think that would make any difference at all.

Sorry for the vague answers, but the questions weren't really that specific.

I had to edit and add an afterthought. I would think that the type of fats and carbs you do it would make a difference too.

Carbs obtained by eating a fresh garden salad vs. eating white bread...there is a difference..not in just one sitting but overall is the approach I'm taking.

Fat obtained via animal fat vs. vegetable oils would make a difference too.

Also in regards to the coffee...as long as you coffee routine wasn't stopping you fromgetting the minimum daily 6-8 cups of water in. Personally, I find it really hard to drink much of anything else in just drinking 6-9 cups of water daily. (My water container is 24 oz. and I drink 3 per day)

This question isn't as easy as it looks!

nah, extra protein probably won't be an issue for you, I mean, don't go crazy but, being over 10 or 20 grams or so shouldn't bother you, especially if you are consistantly working out. I imagine it's more of an issue if your carbs or fat are too low then your protein is too high.

As to coffee, it's a stimulant, so it temporarily raises some aspects of your metabolism, but not enough to bother you unless your drinking it all day. 2 cups in the morning should be fine. (and I do mean cups I.E. 12 or 16 oz or so)

I heard if you switch to orange juice in the morning instead of coffee you'll eventually kick that caffeine craving and have more energy with the juice than the coffee.. I'm not sure though.. I've never had coffee... I drink decaffeinated tea and no pop. So I just stink at answering these sort of questions.:wink:

    My average day...
    Carbs 53 left
    Fat 5 grams left
Protien 41 too much (mostly from Chicken/Turkey/veges)

If you are working out to build lean muscle on a regular basis, I can't see the protein being a problem especially since you are eating lean in that regard.

Don't see any problem with the fats either (as long as they aren't trans fats).

As far as the carbs go, if you aren't feeling lethargic by not eating your carb entitlement...thats great!
And I would suppose you know all about the "good carb/ bad carb" thing...and as long as the majority of your carbs are of the "good carb" variety, I don't see why the pounds just wouldn't drop off.

Sounds like a great plan! You'll be in that bikini in no time at all!
