FitBit

My hips hurt really bad after I run, so consequently I burn my calories using a 15 degree incline on the treadmill and walk really fast.
I know that the fitbit will count stairs climbed, but I"m wondering if it will give me the calorie count I "deserve" using the incline, or will it just show that I've taken steps? All replies appreciated!

I'm afraid not. A Bodymedia fit will I think. Or I think a heart rate monitor.

Nope, fitbit uses an altimeter to recognise when you've gone up stairs or a hill, giving you one 'flight' for roughly every 10 ft increase in altitude. When on a treadmill with incline you're not actually moving upwards so fitbit won't recognise it as such. Use an HRM if you have access to one to get a more accurate picture of your burns.
  • Thanks guys! I have a bodymedia----totally sucks and I ended up gaining weight while using it!!
My heart rate monitor is my BFF!
