We'll possibly eat Subway or some "surprise sandwiches". Nothing too special, other than some ice cream cake and I might make some cookies.

My 84 year old mom makes the best egg nog. She claims that the Wild Turkey whiskey cooks the egg, but I think it is just her excuse to make it with a good kick.

I'm looking forward to not having to do the cooking for this year's feast...with the exception of a salad that my mother in law has asked us to bring.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to a moist turkey and some lovely baby potatoes. I'm sure there will be apple pie and there will definitely be wine!

Oh god, where to start. Minus one day I've done so well staying away from all the tempting food. I plan on having Xmas and boxing day off so am literally dreaming about the food at the moment ha. I think I'm mostly looking forward to my roast dinner with all the trimmings and then second to that just all the chocolate, biscuits, crisps and alcohol we've got in the house :P ha

I'm making peppered roast beef for christmas which I'm looking forward to, but also to indulge in the dessert (tiramisu, YUM), some chocolate, croissants for breakfast, and having my favorite grilled meat skewers in wine sauce the 2nd day. :) And most of all just not counting calories as strictly as usual :D

pwprice59, your mom rocks! It's just two of us so I'll make pan seared duck breast with a red wine reduction sauce. I like to serve it on a bed of polenta. Asparagus or green beans drizzed with white truffle oil.

The vegetables, I like sprouts and parsnips and it is the only time I eat them really.
I am not looking forward to eating anything else really, as most of it will = weight gain.

    Hi,
I'm looking forward to smoked ham, mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn soufflee, german potato salad, lemon pudding, german chocolate cake, nut horn cookies, russian tea cakes, fudgey pinwheels. Although I probably won't eat great amounts of them! And I'm going to log everything on MFP, and also exercise in some calorie burning activity.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, etc!
My boyfriend is making an amazing mulled wine and bought a stallen for Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day we'll have a buche.
There'll be chocolates galore - I'm excited for the Ferrero Rocher.
I'm making gingerbread cookies, Linzer cookies, and Christmas doughnuts - and pans of marshmallows!!
I'm also excited for our traditional Christmas breakfast - crepes with a buffet of fillings - berries, bananas, nutella, whipped cream, sausages, maple syrup!
Christmas Eve for dinner we do a smorgasbord of hors d'oeuvres - little phyllo pastries filled with brie and cranberries, different types of cheese, breads, crackers, plus sliced meats and cretons.
  • Tourtiere! My mom's french and she always makes it for us Christmas Eve, then scones with devon cream and hot chocolate for breakfast. I'm not a huge fan of most turkey dinner foods but I love brussels sprouts and stuffing (which is good since nobody else does)!
