Advice for running in cold weather?

I'm still very new to running. I've started the C25k program at least 3 times and still haven't made it past Week 2. The last time I ran outside was earlier this year in the fall when it was relatively warm. For those of you who run outside, do you continue to run when it gets cold? If so, what gear do you wear? Do you prefer it to running inside even though it's freezing?

I run outdoors year round - if I can stand up without slipping on black ice I'm running
Definitely use fitness fabrics - no cotton. It will hold the moisture close to your skin and you'll be freezing.
dress in layers, invest in some good running socks (I love injinji socks and smartwool socks), some running tights, a hat and gloves.
I use the tights for mid 40s down. For layers on top I usually have a long sleeve base layer and a light running jacket with double layer gloves (liner and outer layer). This will do me down to 28 degrees. Lower than that and I'll add a vest, into the single digits I'll add another long sleeve layer, maybe a windbreaker, and possibly something over my nose and mouth.
Happy running!0
