Clear skin

Hi! Just wanted to share...I had struggled with breakouts off and on for many years now. It was very depressing because nothing seemed to work. I Tried everything over the counter : clean and clear, clearasil, neutrogenia, dove, Clinique, etc..I had also tried infomercials: Murad and Proactiv...And then the dermatologist: antibiotics, differin gel, etc etc. Most of what I tried made my skin red and irritated. Some made my skin worse and so embarrassing I didn't even want to be around people.
Anyways, I finally went to another dermatologist and was prescribed Acayna in the morning and Atralin at night, along with a light face wash and moisturizer. To my surprise my skin has remained clear for over 3 months now. I have not had any breakouts!! Acayna is the cream antibiotic and the Atralin is a retinoid. My skin is soft and clear, yayyyy!
Well I just wanted to share my story for those who may breakout and have yet to find a good regimen.
Clear skin + getting fit =confidence :)

Oh man I have to look into this! I haven't had clear skin in years.

What face wash and moisturizer do you use?

Face wash is some brand by the derm, but I rarely use it. The dr recommended any gentle cleanser. I honestly think with this combination it doesn't really matter what cleanser you use, as long as its it's gentle. Same as moisturizer, I currently use Cvs generic brand gentle moisturizer which is a knock off of Neutrogena.

The name of the face wash is Glyderm and you can get it online too I think...

I use clindamycin. It's a prescription acne medication, which has antibiotics in it. It's so much better than OTC stuff, which would dry out my skin and stain my clothes!

I also use a gentle cleaner on my face. I also put olive oil on it before showering to create a barrier and keep my skin from drying out. And Cetaphil is my holy grail product for great skin-not the regular lotion but the heavy creamy stuff that comes in the round jar.

the derm gave me acanya as well and my skin was burning/peeling. I have sensitive skin and eczema so anything with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and the similar are out for me... :(
33yrs old and still having acne problems.. sucks.
glad it worked for you though, you face looks awesome!

My skin used to be horrendous, I have tried pretty much everything and have spent a fortune. Nivea daily essentials (the blue ones) have made my skin lively and clear. Everyone is different though.

Becareful! Long term use of antibiotics and retinoids is actually harmful. I had taken my teen daughter to the dermatologist, and they prescribed her all kinds of "treatment" for her acne. We've found the absolute best route has been to go natural and not use all those prescription medications.

I have had acne for years as well (as in face full acne) and my dermatologist told me to start using gentle hypoallergenic face wash and oil free hypoallergenic moisturizer. Nothing more.
My face cleared up in no time.

I had terrible acne. Birth control pill and switching to mineral make up fixed me

@mp mama, that sucks it did that. I have sensitive skin too but just use a little. I know the frustration of nothing working!
