Flailing

Options
After spending 5 and1/2 months away at military school, I have only lost 10 pounds. Sure, by body is more toned, but not in the right places! The academy has left me with arms so toned they look like guys arms, but I still have a flabby tummy. I don't know what to do, I pt'd so hard everyday, and in the 6 days I have been home since graduation, I still pt every day from 5a to 6a. I just don't get it! Tips please? I really want to lose this excess weight!

Usually comes down to diet when the stomach is involved

I've been eating Cibus food (military catering service.) I had no chance of ever eating more than 2000 calories a day. It was a very low fat diet. And now that I have been home, I pretty much forget to eat until my friends tell me to eat, so I average 1,000 cals a day now.

Probably eating too little... Also what is your definition of "man arms". Ultimately you are going to have areas that you will lose weight from quicker than others. I for instance hold weight in my thighs.

Also, low fat doesn't mean good for you, if you're not getting enough protein and too many carbs, that could be the problem, also a high sodium intake as well. Try to work on hitting your calorie goal and macros everyday and see if your body changes

You need to eat more. 1000 cal a day O.O That's too little

If you want, check out this link by MFPer Heliotsdan - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

It'll give you a detailed walkthrough (with pictures even) on finding your TDEE and calculating what you should be eating.

Also, if you are worried about the calorie intake, I also suggest you read this thread that has numerous people who met their goals and are maintaining. Some for years and they also provide their calorie intake and how often they work out.

And if you are looking for foods to help with upping your calorie intake, I suggest checking this out:

For the whole eating under a 1000 calories, look...you are going to do what you want but check out the link below at some of the stories of people who thought it was okay (especially because they weren't "feeling" hungry a lot of times) but ended up regretting it. These links are just information to give you options. I'm not preaching or trying to tell you or anyone what is the "right way"...just throwing some info your way is all....
