Don't deprive yourself but don't eat your trigger foods...

I find this to be somewhat of a contradiction, maybe it's just me or maybe not, but that's why I'm posting this..... So they say not to deprive yourself and eat things in moderation or you will end up bingeing... Then there's the people like me who are binge eaters and people tell us not to eat our trigger foods... Well usually are trigger foods are the foods that people tend to restrict... I'm just confused. Do we eat out trigger foods in moderation and risk triggering a binge or just completely stay away from our trigger foods... What is your opinion on this?

IMO it's a very individual thing. If you absolutely can't eat some particular thing(s) in moderation without falling headfirst over the cliff into a full-on binge, it's probably best to cut it out entirely and deal with developing the self-discipline to stave off the cravings. I subscribe to the "everything in moderation" school of thought, but that doesn't work for everybody - especially if you have binging tendencies.

Well, this is what works for me. There are certain things I just can't buy, even if they're healthy and not at all junk food, because I will eat multiple servings of said food in a sitting during a moment of weakness. And my trigger foods change from time to time, there are some foods that I couldn't handle having around without bingeing, that are now on the 'ok' list.

Single serving sizes are my go-to solution when it come to trigger foods. If I have to buy a big bag or multi-pack of something, I'd rather not have it around.
