Hey everyone!

I need some input. You guys are great for that.

Should I buy a iMac? I have a iPhone and iPad and even an Apple router. My husband also has these gadgets. I do not play video games except for WoW which is compatible. I am a student. I would add Microsoft Suite for Mac onto the computer mainly as its the only format professors except. I would love to unify my Apple products. And I have a PC already that I could keep as a extra computer for those times when you absolutely must have a PC. Its nothing fancy either, a $700 cost for everything and runs great.

I would get the cheapest iMac out there. $1300.

I've only owned a Macbook and it ran great. But again I don't run my computers into the ground very much and I also DO NOT custom build computers. I buy it as a package all in one deal as cheap as possible. If it can handle WoW I'm happy.

I just LOVE Apple products! Even if its just for pure looks and functionality. But ... would you buy one? What else is so awesome about one?

Thanks!

I've owned a few iMacs of different generations. Yes I would buy one again especially the latest models, they've never been better.

The only thing to watch out for is if a replacement model is on the way. I haven't kept up with the latest Apple rumors, so that would be my only hesitation.

I say YES! Mac computers are the only ones i will ever own... 1 imac and 2 macbook pros - one older gen and the new retina display 15"... totally worth it. Apple has great support for their computers and if you take care of them they will last you forever, i have had my imac for 4 years now and its in perfect condition. My older macbook is kinda screwed but not because of apple but because it has been dropped too many times LOL OOps... i have never once had a virus on my Mac and i remember on my PC i had viruses ALL the time!... it was horrible.

I say if you can afford one then go for it. Defiantly money well spent!

I bought my Macbook Pro in 2009 and I have loved it. 100%. I say go for it!
  • Sorry I don't own one so I can't tell you great stuff about it, but I might have some helpful advice...

I would suggest spending an hour at the apple store on the iMac to see how comfortable you are with it and if you like it... I think that you might need to invest some time in learning how it works, so I hope you like to learn new things and you have the patience for it

My mother-in-law bought one and I don't think she uses it as much ...definitely not to the full extent to what it can do (but then again most don't do this with any computer)...

I personally would never buy a PC because I would never use it since I have a laptop which I prefer to have due to the convenience...I like to be in different areas of the house on my laptop, not stuck in one spot.

I wouldn't buy something that was $1300 if I didn't really need it....but if I was rich, then sure why not.

Haha awesome guys thanks for the advice. I will definitely play around on one for awhile and think long and hard about dropping such a large chunk of change.

I have them at work so I'm not completely foreign. But still don't have much experience with a desktop Mac.
