Not really, no. My current protein powder has 18g per 22g scoop of protein.0

I've just looked up the drink online and it recommends it for the following:
> old age
> pre and post-operative cases
> recovery after severe illness
> general weakness and malaise
It is therefore more of a meal replacement than a protein supplement. If it's just protein supplementation you're after to help hit your macros then you'd be better off with a simple whey powder.0 -
whey powder here are very costly........
so thought of using this protein powder.......... which is quite cheap...........
isnt it useful to increase my macros?....... will i gain weight if i use it?0 -

i am not able to meet my protein goal and often exceed my carbs .... so thought of going into this protein powder0

Define 'very costly' for Whey. Where I am it's one of the cheapest sources of protein in terms of £1:protein.0

its not about the cost but my question is related to whether that complete protein drink is suitable for my weight loss program?0

The carb to protein is near 50:50, if wight loss is your goa,l I'd avoid eating carbs 2-4 hours post workout, and before bed if you sleep less then 7 hours. It's a good maintance and bulking recovery blend, but I'd suggest using whey or casein powders, and avoid all pre mixed proteins0

How about doing some raw eggs... they are the best natural protein anyway. I use one in my protein shake every post w/o. If I did not have whey, I would do more raw eggs. All protein is rated according to egg protein. It is much safer than people make it out to be, too. Safer than eating out, I would say! hehehe Also, have you looked into ordering whey online, you can get good deals that way...0

3 or 4 whole eggs, large. Grades are irrelevant. They only grade the shell thickness, it does not have anything to do wigh egg quality. I do use eggs that are organic, non-caged with high omega 3s because one brand or another is usually on sale.0

You're more than likely getting enough protein through your normal diet. Protein doesn't result in weight loss, reduce calories do. So you're barking up the wrong tree.0 -

Guys seriously!!!! She just asked a simple question. How difficult it is to answer in more refined language rather than bombarding with why this why not this.
In india a normal whey protein tub amounts to 5000- 6000 indian rupees for 5lbs and 5000 calories is a monthly income for majority of indian working class. So most of them can not afford it.
To OP, I hear ya, Being an Indian , I understand where you are coming from. Try buying EAS or ultimate nutrition from healthkart. They gv discount coupon every now and then plus its cheaper there. Both these are reasonable and lasts longer as compare to local brands , if you stick to one scoop Per day.0 -
I would go with the eggs if I where you. If you eat a lot of fruit, you can mix them in fruit smoothies, or you can shoot them with some hot sauce. The texture is not great, but the taste is actually good. You get the protein without any added carbs. The yolks are full of great nutrients, so I wouldn't leave that part out!0

Why are you recommending avoidance of carbs PWO/nighttime?0 -

This is not a good protein supplement when you consider that it's more of a carb supplement.
As far as weight loss goes, this is goverened by energy balance, not the structure of your protein shake.
You will gain weight if you consume a chronic surplus of calories.
You will lose weight if you are continually in a calorie deficit.0 -
OP, if you want to increase your protein, then you'll want to use a supplement that is mostly protein.0

i have noticed one thing ..... cheaper protein drinks contains loads of carbs along with protein..........
how to reduce that carb content?0 -

[ETA:] I don't know that it has anything to do with the "cheaper" ones. The whey protein powder I've been using is one of the most inexpensive ones available in stores near me - around $15 for a 2-pound tub - and it contains 2g fat, 7g carbs and 26g protein per scoop. Another similarly priced one that I occasionally use contains 1.5g fat, 8g carbs and 30g protein per scoop.0 -
You cannpot reduce carbs from low end prtein shakes max what you can do, eat less carbs in ur diet as compensation (Based on ur daily macros).. If i take protein shake high in carbs i take after solid strength training workout and eat less of roti/chapati, one roti has about 50-70 cals with 11-13 gms of carbs...SO reduce carbs from roti and take protein else
Buy good quality protein shake...
Try these foods for increasing protein:
Paneer
Almonds/walnuts/peanuts/all kind of nuts
Yogurt
Soyabean granuels/ soyabean chunks/Nutri
Sofit (soya milk easily available in India..use natural one)
Regular milk
Add soyabean flour to wheat flour to make rotis
Also check out Allegro Soya isolate powder hardly 145 rupees for 100 gms.. 10 gms has about 8 gms of protein but 0 carbs.
Tofu
Egg whites
Make besan chillas
All dals/rajma(red kidney beans) /channa(chickpeas)/ kala channa (Bengal gram)
These are all vegetarian options easily available in India.0 -

The powder you mentioned has more carbs than protein.... Looks like you'll still be over on your carbs.0 -
