i wore my brand new bowflex heart rate monitor all day from when i woke up until right now according to it my average heart rate was 105 and i burnt 3025 calories. i know it sounds wierd could this be right. i watched it all day and know the heart rate reading it was giving me was consistent to my activity level and i have it set for a five foot two, twenty three year old female who weighs 117 pounds. i should add i work in a assisted living building as a med aide and do spend the entire nine hours standing, running, lifting my residents, changing their depends and dressing them etc... so it is quite physical my heart rate at work was on average about 120 but peaked at 182 according to this site a person of my stature whos normal daily activity is still only using about 2000 cals. so is my heart rate monitor looney? id love to eat all those calories and definitly dont want to put myself into starvation mode if i am using that much in a day.
