I will admit I'm so sick of counting calories. I want to be able to become and stay fit, slim and healthy without having to count and calculate every sing calorie, or gram of fat or carbs. I know what is healthy and what isn't I know portion control so do I really need to freaking calculate everything? Is logging to make sure I hit a certain target on calories every day that important and key? I would think that as long as your using portion control and using your brain on what is healthy and what not what's the big deal?? I haven't tested this idea but I was wondering if anyone else has ans what where your results and thoughts or hear from those who haven't bit have a respectful opinion. :)

You do not have to count calories. You do need to eat somewhere within a reasonable intake to meet your goals.

Counting is for accuracy and to build data to make conclusions from, but the act of counting is completely separate from the act of eating.

If you're sick of counting, stop counting. See what happens in a month. Adjust to the best of your ability if the results aren't meeting your needs.

I think everyone gets burned out on counting calories from time to time. As SideSteel said, try out a break and see what happens. If you keep doing something you resent (counting calories), you'll probably just increase your chances of making unhealthy decisions in the future.

Sometimes the hardest part is finding a solution that is both effective physically and behaviorally.

You don't have to count calories honey. I follow Slimming World and there isn't a calorie to count or a point (Like WW). You are following the "diet" you as a human are meant to. Lean meats, as much fruit and veg as you want, carbs etc. You are allowed "syns" which counts for the high sugar/fat things you might want to eat. I have lost a stone and a half doing this, along with exercising. I have always been crap at calorie counting. This one has worked beautifully for me.

    Good luck x

I count calories 50-75% of the time, but truly I can wing it 95% of the time and still stay within my calorie range. It comes from years of listening to your body, knowing what kinds of foods are good for it, and sticking to a healthy diet and exercise regimin. It does eventually come natural. I've been on maintenance for 8+ years now and haven't gained or lost more than 5 pounds during the entire 8 years by listening to my signals, and keeping up with a 3-5 times a week workout schedule.

I went a short while without counting calories, but I also ate soup or salad for 1-2 of my 3 meals daily. I still lost weight, but I couldn't just eat whatever I wanted. So yes, it's doable, but you might need to be very picky about what you consume.

If I get burnt out with calorie counting, I will do this in between calorie counting stages.
