After my workout last Sunday, I ate a sensible lunch. About mid way through my Subway footlong veggie sub, I started to feel kind of funny. A few hours later I was in the full throws of what I now think was a good case of food poisoning (not from Subway, but from the night before). The next day and a half was spent emptying the contents of my intestines in liquified form and not eating since the thought and smell of food just made me feel worse. I was back on my feet on Tuesday and started eating again, althought lightly. Finally by Wednesday, though not 100%, I was able to return to work and after remarks from my coworkers about how gaunt I looked, I realized that I needed to refuel my body, since I had basically emptied it of any nutrients. I suspended my close scrutiny of my diet and ate pretty much what I wanted, but throughout all this, was not able to go to the gym at all. By the time Friday came around, I was feeling about 90% of normal, but felt that I needed to just give myself a relaxing evening, which I did.

Well today was back to full routine, working out, eating right and such. After all said and done, I lost 1 more pound!! I feel that if I had weighed myself earlier in the week I would have seen a 3-5 pound loss, but that would not have represented a healthy and realistic result. So I am thrilled to have suffered my worst week of health in months and come out ahead still. Many of my coworkers are now noticing my loss since my face is starting to look thinner and I was able to actually put on a pair of jeans that I have NEVER worn but kept for over 5 years - vowing to one day wear them. They are not ready for public display since my stomach needs to be a bit smaller, but another 5 - 10 pounds and they will be presentable. Ahh Calvin Klein my friend, you are very close to having your label on my butt again. LOL.

So food poisoning is not a recommended weight loss solution, but I am happy!!
