Growing bean sprouts

I love bean sprouts, but the caf doesn't serve them, and the ones at the supermarket here are low-quality and overpriced. Has anyone here tried growing bean sprouts at home? Any tips?

You can also find books about Raw foods (I like Rawsome!) that talk a LOT about sprouting your own sprouts.

Oh boy! That has been a little kitchen project for me this week! I can only find mung bean sprouts in the local area, and they are ridiculously priced. I didn't buy a thing for this project, just gathered the supplies from around my kitchen.

I am experimenting with sesame seeds, sunflower and soybean. The prettiest and quickest, the one you grab by the handful and just chomp it until it is all gone is, is sesame. You have to eat those as soon as you see a sprout! Sunflower sprouts are not as pretty but they taste delicious! And, last at least a day or two. Soybean, not a fan. They delay to sprout (3-5 days) and give off a heavy aroma.

Email if you are interested in how I am prepping them!

I'd actually like to know that too. I tried sprouting beans from the grocery store, and it does NOT work! I think we might have to order them online, or go to some sort of special, organic food store. Come to think of it, an organic food store could probably tell you where to go to get them.
