    Doug,

I started at the end of May and lost steadily until late November when everything seemed to stall. Despite my activity level continually improving and eating at a deficit I seem to be at a plateau and not moving like I would expect.

Even though my weight has not changed my measurements have been changing. It is extremely frustrating, but I have seen many people post about the same thing happening after a steady period of loss.

Hopefully it will break soon, try not to stress about it.

Atleast you are not gaining significantly.

And another weight gain of 0.2 kg for the morning of January 1, 2013. So I now weight exactly what I did on December 1. Disappointing way to start the new year. This morning I'm up again to 101.4 kg.

I'm still skeptical that "eating more calories" is the way to lose more weight. If I gain too much weight I will reverse course and revert to common sense which still tells me that the less net calories I eat the more weight I will lose. That means eating less and/or exercising more.

I'm willing to eat crow (well not literally) if I'm proved wrong, but so far not so good.

it happens like that sometimes. It took me 3 months to lose the first 7lbs...then for 4 months I had decent weight loss (like 25 lbs in total) then in September my weight loss dropped down to about 1lb per month. I finally lost about 1.4lbs the last week or so.

    Thanks for your notes, people.

John - you are almost at your goal, so it makes sense for weight not to change much.

DoingItWell - yes, at least I'm not gaining much.

Sarah - I seem to be having similar patterns to you. Do you just stick with it and wait it out?

    Thanks,

Today is my usual Friday weigh-in day. No weight change from last week where I had a 1.3 lb weight gain from the week before. Although it is my lowest weight of the week.

Maybe we should look at making changes to your exercise routine.
I'm thinking you need to introduce high intensity interval training once or twice a week swapped out for a typical steady session.

You might be right about more intense, even if shorter sessions. The last few week I've I've increased the speed of my indoor exercise cycling, keeping a higher heartbeat throughout, even though I reduced the minutes. I have seen a steady drop all week, and this morning I was excited to see a new low on the scale. Exactly 100.0 kg! I'm about to finally get into two-digits!
