So I am an avid runner and recently started doing more strength training, tonnes of weighted squats, lunges, push ups, Body Pump classes, Spin classes...I feel great, although my jeans feel tighter on the thighs..My thighs have always been an issue for me, yikes:ohwell: ....Are the squats and lunges causing my thighs to grow? I would like to look longer and leaner in the bottom half..What can I do?

Hello any help out there?0
-
you might be building some muscle from the squats and leg work.0

Yes, it sounds like you're building muscle, that's a good thing. I'd suggest getting the book The New Rules of Lifting for Women - there's a lot of great information in there that would help.0

Thanks, I have heard of the book..I will def check it out!0

My guess is that if you've just started working out you're retaining water in these areas. I have the same problem when I start a new program. Women don't "bulk" or even build muscle very quickly or easily, it is a pretty long process.0
