So I have a doctor's appointment in the morning. This isn't the BIG one where he determines whether or not I must be placed on hypertension medications, but I am nervous all the same. I know that I haven't been holding up my end of the bargin with my weight loss, diet, and exercise. I do sooo well during the day but then I go home and eat like a flipping pig. Don't even get me started on my weekend eating. I know I CAN do it...for goodness sake I lost 40 pound!!! Now it just seems so much harder now.

This doctor's appointment really has me wigging out. I am sooo disappointed that I won't be able to see a smaller number on my doctor's scale (after my eating this weekend, Lord knows what the number will be) So in light of my enlightened afternoon, I have decided to put myself on a 6 Week weight loss challenge. I want to be at least 10 lbs lighter in 6 weeks. I am determined to stick with my plan NO MATTER WHAT. It will be tough but I know that I can do it. If this means having to cook 2 meals in the afternoon (One for me and one for hubby) then that's what needs to happen. That's what I did the first time and it obviously worked!!! I am back in the attitude that I need to be in. No more...well i'll eat this now and start my diet again tomorrow....or...if I eat this now then I'll have a lighter dinner (this never works for me)...no more...if I order this then i'll only eat half and ask for a to go box (I am not at that point of discipline yet)

I am so ready for this.....

Thanks for allowing me to share and vent....

  • I got a suggestion for you. Pick up the 6 week diet workbook called The Beck Diet Solutions Workbook. I got it last week and I love it. It helps you stay on track and it works with any diet plan.

You can do it and it sounds like accountability will be a key! Is your hubby supportive? You could also post on here daily how it's going. Your hubby won't be hurt by healthy meals, I say don't stress yourself out by cooking 2 meals. I often cook somewhat "traditional" meals and just make them more healthy. Half the time my husband didn't even notice. Finally, he got on the bandwagon and is even on here!!

I used to have the same issue with eating crazy at night after eating healthy all day, I find that when I have a HEAVY breakfast then all ends well! Normally for breakfast I may have steel cut oatmeal (loaded with whatever you like, ie. walnuts, blueberries etc), then I may have scrambled egg whites a fruit and coffee. I follow that with a snack 2 hrs or so later, then lunch or another whole grain carb., protein and a salad, then my last snack before dinner, then dinner. Perhaps you can include smaller meals.

You also mentioned cooking 2 meals at home for you and hubby, I find that when I have to do extra work preparing meals chances are I won't follow through for long. The truth of the matter is this is a lifestyle change, and although it may not be easy at times I believe it should be practical and something you could do for the rest of your life. Perhaps you can prepare health meals that your hubby can eat as well!

Be encouraged!! MFP'ers are GREAT! Very supportive and motivational. Let us know how it's going! We got your back!!

Cheers to your continued success! :drinker: Have a Great week and Dr.'s appt tomorrow!! :flowerforyou:
