Very daunted...and scared

Hello,
I have let myself go and put on a lot of weight in the past year or so and am very scared I won't succeed.
I need to lose about 45 kilos to be able to look and feel good. More importantly I need to rid myself of my depression and chronic back pain.
My boobs are massive (weight seems drawn there), I can't see my feet. And nothing fits any more.
Can anyone tell me that I CAN do it??

Hang in there! I had 22 kgs to lose and I lost 18kgs in 5 months. It would be difficult in the beginning to adjust to a new lifestyle, but with each kilo lost you will find more and more confidence. Before you know it, you would be meeting your mini-goals and finally be at your goal weight! Get going!0

You can do it, you can do any thing! The only thing stopping you is you and you are the one in charge of you. Exercise is the best cure for depression ever, it is hard when your boobs are huge but get yourself a good sports bra and do as much as you can, YOU CAN DO IT!0

Yes, it is daunting. One way to stop it from being overwhelming is to take it one habit at a time. Maybe the first week, you'll limit yourself to one dessert a day. Once that becomes normal for you, then you can cut out sweetened drinks. Then maybe you'll start going for a walk once a day.
Basically, think of weight loss as trying to move a pile of rocks, where each rock is a bad habit. If you try to move all the rocks at once, it's exhausting and you might get discouraged. But if you move the rocks one at a time, it is easier and less daunting.

I came into this with over 100lbs to lose - around what you have. I'm now almost halfway there in less than 6 months - it is doable.
Make yourself mini-goals to focus on - instead of looking at the whole scary amount. For example, I set myself a minigoal to get into the overweight BMI category (from obese) for New Year - ~191 lbs. I did this with a week to spare (and although I've gained a little water weight from the last couple of days this will be gone soon). My next minigoal is for Valentines Day - to lose 1.5 -1.7 lb/wk and get to around 180 lbs.
However, my boobs don't seem to have shrunk much at all (sadly) although the rest of me has. Still hoping they do... As for clothes not fitting, keep them in your wardrobe and try them on every so often. Fitting back into them is a great feeling.0 -
I hear you honey. I am a 38HH. Pain in the back literally x
If you are planning on doing any kind of exercise, make sure you have a bloody good sports bra. With back pain, you need to be careful in what sports/exercises you take up.
I am going into yoga and pilates, swimming is a good one too.
Good luck honey, you will see your feet again I am hoping I get to see mine too xx0 -
You can do it, just take one week at a time, eat less and move more. Try and increase your exercise each week, even if its just walking up and down the stairs more often.
Theres some great people on here that will support you, feel free to add me if you want.0 -

YES!! You can do it!!! Don't try to do it all at once, just start at your own pace. When I started, I wasn't really trying, I just wanted to be more aware of how much I ate. The weight has come off SLOWLY, which is fine for me. I'm much happier and healthier now than 6 months ago. I'm not at my goal weight yet, but it's close! Good luck and best wishes!! :flowerforyou:0

Thanks everyone.

You can do it! Want proof? You already started by joining in the MFP community! I didn't have as much to lose as you do, but I don't really think that matters. I think losing weight is hard for everyone, regardless of the amount. To lose the amount you have may take a little longer, but you can so do it! Believe in yourself (because we all do) and take it one day at a time.0
