The end of a morning regular...?

Opened up my Coffee (Can of Mt Dew) this morning and took a swig of it. Just didn't taste right. Too sweet. Waited for a bit, and tried again. Nope, still too sweet.

I've had this happen before though, where my body finally goes, "You've had enough. Time to clean up your act." and then suddenly soda tastes like crap? Any of you ever had that happen? Perhaps not with soda, but with something else bad for you?

I wish that would happen with the sugar cookies I made the other day.... but they seem to be having the opposite effect! nom, nom, nom! Oh, they are so good!

I know what you mean. The Monster Cookies I made on the 15th have been going down in count every day!

I have had that happen with several foods...mainly fast food. I used to LOVE Big Macs, but I had one about a year ago, and I just couldn't finish it, it was not nearly as tasty as it once was and I haven't had the urge for one since. I say embrace it and accept that your body has one less vice, and not wanting the Mountain Dew will help you reach your goal :) You now have a few hundred extra calories to use on something else that's (hopefully) healthier!

After drinking mostly water, soda takes too sweet for me. Other foods end up way too salty.

I've had that happen to me with soda as well-I used to have a Sunkist just about every day, now if I have it, it tastes "off". I also used to only be able to drink ice cold water, now it's too cold for me if it hasn't been sitting out for a bit. I find beans to be too salty for me now too which is sad

I had a real Coke the other day just because I felt like having one- after about a year of drinking mostly water I thought it was going to be awesome but I was actually kind of underwhelmed. I guess thats a good thing- I drank it but it sure didn't leave me wanting more.

I was the same. After while, I tried a diet mtn dew and it seems right... I know my taste has changed but some mornings I don't want real coffee, so the diet dew is an option. The real dew tastes like straight syrup to me now.

Had that happen, I used to only drink mountain dew- didn't drink it for a long while, tried the diet mountain dew over the regular stuff, just to see- and I can't drink a can of regular any more, it's WAY too sweet.

I don't like pastries to be as sweet as I used to. Even my own pumpkin bread recipe has been altered to HALF the usual sugar.

I had that happen with Dr. Pepper back in the day. I rarely have sugar soda anymore. If I do, it's either Mexican (made with azucar as opposed to white processed sugar) or all natural sodas from Hansen, with the occasional old style rootbeer. Usually tip back a no sugar energy drink in the morning, and water for the rest of the day, and I feel a lot better for it :)

After a short time away from processed foods,* they taste like fake food to me, even low sodium "heart healthy" soups. And fresh fruit is plenty sweet for me.

    * Just about the only processed food I still eat is cheese, but I treat it as a controlled substance. I still drink black coffee, but not as much as I used to.

 C'mon, why not? If you drink enough maybe you can be your own Nite-Lite?
