There is a topic for funny people you find unfunny so thought I would start talking about who you find really funny.

My all time personal favorite is no longer with us. George Carlin. I saw him live once and he was so funny my sides were killing me from laughing so hard.

She's hysterical. I think my absolute favorite from her was Tongue Untied. I think that's what it was called - I haven't seen it in years.

I've only seen Dane Cook once and can't say I hated him. Wasn't crazy about his comedy and didn't crack up over every joke but he wasn't all that bad either. I've seen worse.

I always loved Darren Carter (too bad we don't see too much of him anymore) and Anjelah Johnson. Stephan Colbert and John Oliver also have me in stitches.... and I know she isn't technically a "commedianne"... The Bloggess (Jennifer Lawson) gets the tears just streaming down my face...

i remember Emo Phillips from his appearances on Letterman back in the 80's.

also, i think you're thinking of Spalding Gray, who had that monologue/play called "Swimming to Cambodia"
