Hi MFP Pros,

I am 8 months postpartum and was weighing 160lbs at end of my 3rd pregnancy. I have managed to lose most of it and I am currently around 122 lbs. I am 5'2" and even though 122 sounds good, I still look 5 months pregnant lol ,as am an apple. I'd like to lose few more inches around my waist (34.5" currently).

I am currently doing 30 DS 4 days and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism(Jillian) 2 days per week. My weight loss is veryyyy slow right now, probably bcos I have been around 120 lbs for the last few years and my body wants to hang onto the last 10 lbs.I joined MFP so that I can lose a little more and look good and be healthy.

So am i doing enough? Do I need to add another 30 min cardio on the 30DS days? BFBM is pretty intense and around 40 min already. Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance...

What's your diet like? Nutrition is the biggest factor in weight loss.

You can exercise all you want but we have no idea as to what you eat, how much etc. Your results will be mainly contributed to your eating, not the amount of exercise.

Like the others have asked, what do you eat and is it enough? Did you enter in your calories per day or let MFP pick it? If MFP picked it, what did you say to lose per weight? You'll lose weight a lot slower now than you did to begin with since you're closer to your goal

    Thanks all.

I am eating pretty clean and I have set he MFP to lose 0.5 lbs/week. I am just thinking that I need to up my exercise to around 5 hrs/week so as to lose the last 10 or inches. Currently I am doing less than 3 hours.

I am starting C25K so that I can add extra 30 min for 3 days.

Eating pretty clean is a meaningless statement, everyone has a different perspective on what that denotes. Are you eating plenty of oily fish plus other healthy fats, nine servings of fruit and veggies, three servings of reduced fat dairy a day, mineral rich foods regularly, lean protein at every meal and snack? What percentage of your daily calories are junk or processed, even counting bread, pasta and breakfast cereal and what percentage is wholefoods much as they come off the animal or plant?

Research suggests you can spot reduce the abdominal area with targeted diet and exercise - you need to reduce or eliminate anything that puts the body into a state of stress (smoking, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, white refined carbs, high glycaemic index carbs, skipping meals, overexercising, poor sleep patterns) and do high intensity training (cardio and strength). Overdoing the cardio can do more harm than good, it burns muscle and encourages stress hormone release - few people can do high intensity more than about four times a week, any more and you are likely under recovered so it just feels harder than it is.
