Completely lost on strength training!

Where is a good map when I need one? I have strength trained before (complete with eating a small high protein meal afterwards every time), and stuck with it for a couple months sticking to dedicated, every-other-day training - but I feel like I am not seeing results very quickly. I have researched to see what I should be doing (ie, more weights less reps, less weights more reps, etc) But honestly, when I get out on the circuit training floor I feel like I am lost... I want a plan in action that will completely tone and strengthen my entire body. Does anyone know a really good strength training plan - and better yet one that has worked for you? I want to be strong!

I haven't tried either yet as my appendix burst when I was all set to start, but New Lifting Rules for Women (lift like a man to look like a godess) has a plan for women and Stronglift 5x5 (free online ebook) whilst aimed mainly at men, makes a lot of sense and I have seen pictures on here of some amazing results using both these programs. Good luck!0
