I love Smoothies...

Options
But they are costing too much!

I heard using spinach was good and it doesn't taste.....

What are the best components:

Ice, no ice?

Water, Juice?

What kind of juice?

Yogurt, Ice Cream, none?

I really like the smoothie's from Tropical Smoothie and Smoothie King.

I wonna hear some Receipes, leggo!

Thanks in advance!

The smoothie I have nearly every morning is a Chocolate Banana Smoothie. I'm sure you've seen some variation of this..

    1/2 cup silken tofu
    1/2 soy milk
    1 med-large banana
    1 tbs honey (optional)
    2 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
    ice

I like to first blend a handful of spinach (or other dark leafy greens) with enough almond milk for it to blend. Then I'll add a ripe frozen bannana and some frozen berries. It's so rich and creamy! :)

    I make them every morning.

    Basic ingrediants
Yogurt - your choice 1 cup
almond milk or regular milk to consistency you want
instant oatmeal Hlaf or whole packet - your choice.

Now I start getting inventive. If it sounds good it goes in.

Right now I am using frozen unsweetened fruit blend. Fresh fruit in season. Never did a veggie one before so really no clue.

I like smoothies with chocolate in them - I look forward to them all day long and they are sooooo delicious.

    1 frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (vanilla, original, chocolate, whatever)
1-2 cups baby spinach, kale, broccoli florets (you need a good blender or can't mind chewing a little!), whatever green veggie you are into that day.
1-2 tablespoons peanut or almond butter
    1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 scoop protein powder (optional)

    Blend well and enjoy!

Definitely greek yogurt in place of ice cream. Ice cream defeats the purpose of healthy!

Green smoothies (2 cups organic baby spinach, collard, kale mix + 1/2 banana + 1/2 gala apple + 1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1 cup water + parsley, cilantro). You can alternate berries for less carbs as well and other herbs such as basil, mint. I borrow this one from other MFP friends.
