Does anyone take any over-the-counter supplements for joint pain? I am considering taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin and just wondered if anyone has seen positive results with these. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Yes! I used to be a pharmacy tech and the pharmacists said that this is one of the VERY FEW suppliments that has actually been scientifically studied and does work. I take it and I think it helps. You have to get a really good quality, though, which can be costly. I am kind of a big baby and take a chewable kind. There is also a liquid that is supposed to be really good.
  • I've often wondered it I should take this supplement as well. I wouldn't say I have joint pain but joint stiffness. I'm always feeling like I need to pop my ankles, elbows. I'm 44 years old and in excellent health & exercise a lot.

I have used it from time to time and my husband has too. We found it worked.

If you get a pills here is a trick. Some OTC vitamins do not dissolve in the time it resides in your stomache a useful amount so you don't get the full effect. So try this:

Stick the pill in apple cider vinager. If within 30 minutes it is not dissolved or mostly dissolved it is not going to help you. I tested this when used to work in Pharmaceuticals and it is pretty accurate. The vinager is a similar acid level (pH) as the acid in your stomache. That is why it works.

    Good Luck.

That's super cool! Thanks for the tip!!

Another Great supplement for sore muscles and somewhat joint pain is called DRibose
Most often it is found in powder form, but it makes a HUGE difference when working out heavy you dont feel it as much the next day.

Is that one of those recovery suppliments? Is it high in calories?

I have been buying the Elations drink packets - I think they are working - but then again losing the 45 pounds is probably helping too.
