High RPE but low calories burned

OK, advice needed.

I am a beginning runner. I have asthma and my breathing is pretty... limited. However, I have found that nothing melts the fat off faster than incorporating jogging into my workout routines. That being said, jogging is the hardest thing for me to do physically.

Here is the workout I do: 30 minutes of alternating walking at 3 mph 1 minute with jogging at 4 mph 1 minute.

The last 10 minutes of this workout especially, I am drenched in sweat and really struggling!

However, when I log it in MFP, MFP says this burns a measly 166 calories. I feel like it must burn more, considering my Rate of Perceived Exertion is a 7 or 8 for most of the workout.

I know I'm not going very fast, but for me this is a tough workout!

Just wondering if I am doing the right thing here, and how important RPE should be when determining calories burned.
