How quickly can you lose muscle tone when you are not exercising? December was a tough month due to family and holiday so I did not get to the gym once in the whole month. I continued losing weight over that time though. I am wondering if it was because I was losing muscle or because I was doing a moderate job of watching what I ate. I know that no one can say that I will lose muscle exactly 5 days and 12 hours after the last time I worked out but a general idea would be nice.

People who consistently exercise will take longer to lose it compared to those who sporatically exercise. But a month wouldn't be unreasonable to lose muscle tone.

I've actually been wondering this myself. I had the flu/ear infection for three weeks and couldn't work out and I tried basic kettlebell moves last night and my arms felt like jelly!0
