But anyways, on a serious note, I have read online that standing while eating is a good way to boost calorie burn. Obviously, standing while doing anything is better than sitting! But does anyone have any actual knowledge or experience when it comes to whether specifically standing while eating helps you digest better or boost metabolism?

    I would personally just sit and enjoy the meal.
  • Actuially doing 400 meter intervals while eating will do the trick a whole lot better.

    I calculated how many calories standing for 4 hours would burn (I was working a photobooth for a friend). It burned about 440 calories (woohoo!), but then I realized that sitting on my *kitten* for 4 hours burns 400 calories (with the same calculator). So, I guess it technically burns more calories, but not much to be worth it really. If you spend an hour eating (if I were standing, I don't think I'd take that long to eat), you'd only burn an extra 10 calories or so. I'd rather sit...

  • i actually had a friend with an eating disorder that would NEVER sit down because he thought he would be burning more calories constantly...
    it's not worth it. enjoy your time, sit down.
