Getting there...!

Hi,
My name is Ed and I started my new life on the first of Nov 2012 weighing in at 330lbs. I saw some photos of myself that were taken on holiday in the States and couldn't believe I allowed myself to get that big. What was really embarrassing was having to ask for a seat belt extension on the airplane and not being able to put the seat tray flat because my stomach got in the way.
I recently lost my wife to Cancer and decided that I wasn't going to make my daughter an orphan... so she is my motivation to lose the weight
So far (28 Dec 2012) I have lost over 43lbs and continue to lose at about 1/2 a pound a day on average since the initial big losses that come with all diets. Not on any fad diets, just eating less (using Diet Chef as well as my own food) as well as better food and more exercise. I decided it must be a change of lifestyle rather than just weight loss as I don't want to put it back on.
My first goal is 220lbs (haven't been that weight in over 25 years). Once there I will see what my next will goal be.
I find MFP extremely helpful and since using it I am finding it easier (and fun) to lose the weight. I look forward to hitting 50lbs in the next 10-14 days.
