Nike + Ipod Calories Burned Accuracy

I received a Nike + Sensor for Christmas. I've used it for the past couple of days. I am currently on week 5 of the C25K program and also walk and jog an additional 30 mins after the C25K training ends. Yesterday I work out for 1 hr 19 mins and the calories burned with Nike + read 986 but the treadmill calories burned read 703. Today I worked out for 65 minutes and the Nike + read 719 calories burned and the treadmill said 472 calories burned. I don't want to log more calories that I burned (I am aware that everything is an estimate). However there is a huge gap between the sensor and the treadmill number. How accurate is the Nike +? Is it taking into account that I am not running the entire time and that I am also walking?

If this question has been answered already I would love to be directed to the information as I have searched the message boards and could not find anything that referenced the accuracy of the Nike + sensor and ipod touch.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

Old post, but checking for cal accuracy on Nike products and this came up. Late response, but that seems enormously high for a run. Did you input your correct height and weight in Nike+ before you started? I tend to get about 100 calories per mile. I am 5'3" and 115 pounds (I use a HR monitor on a Sole F80. It computes for gender, age, and weight)...seems pretty close to MFP estimates, and to other treadmills (Polar).
