Cleaning up my eating and continuing to lift heavy!

Hi there! I've been on here for a while off and on, and for the past few days I've cut out processed sugar, bread, and alcohol (though I don't drink much anyway). I wanted to do so for a while, but being on break means I'm less stressed, so I figured it would be a better time to revamp some of my eating habits.

I dig primal, paleo, and just eating low-processed. I'm not really following a program, I guess. I just lift heavy 3-4 days a week, do cardio and HIIT a few days too, and then randomly hike or rock climb, kind of a novice in both of those though. A fun fact about myself is I finally deadlifted over 200 lbs a few days ago, woop woop! I started lifting mid-September of this year. So that's me. I suppose I posted this because I don't have friends on here yet, and I'm looking for other lifters, advocates of eating whole foods, and people that generally enjoy life with whom to share the health journey.

I play percussion and I want to go to medical school. Woo. Hope y'all are having a great night!

  • Hi - you can add me as a friend. I'm not a lifter (I do some light freeweights and mostly focus on running/endurance workouts), but I love hiking and trail runiing to stay in shape. Don't think I could live without bread (I bake my own!), but I love to cook and stick to a diet low in processed sugar (when it is not Christmas week!) I am almost to my goal and have a few more pounds to lose, but I am more concerned about health and fitness than I am about getting to the "magic number".

Congrats on your dead lifting milestone! Also I'm currently working on cleaning up my diet while continuing to lift around the 5-8 rep range. I stick to a high fat and protein diet, eating only about 5-10% carbs a day and I'm loving it.

I'll send you a friend request though! I'm always interested in keeping up with other people with similar goals
