I'm looking for help on the nutrition aspect of my weight loss goals. I try to search the internet but all of the information is too overwhelming. I don't know what to choose or if it would work for me. I looking for the basics in nutrition. I have the exercise part down. I just get lost when it comes to eating properly.

Eat less than TDEE to lose
    Eat lots of vegetables

^^ don't overcomplicate is GREAT advice--something i wish someone had told me eight years ago when i started tracking my food intake :)

if you're brand new to logging your food, the best thing you could do at this point is just to log every single thing you eat or drink for two weeks or so. this will allow you to establish a baseline, see how many calories you're currently consuming and at what ratio of fat to protein to carbohydrates. once you have a baseline, you can determine your target changes.

during this stage where you're establishing a baseline, don't change your diet yet. eat as you normally would. give yourself an accurate starting point. after you've done this, THEN set a daily calorie goal, determine your sub-goals and alter your daily intake to reflect those goals.

everyone is different. most sensible diet plans or strategies are effective as long as the user sticks to them--they all cause the dieter to consume less calories, which results in weight loss regardless of the approach.

best of luck to you! take it one day at a time :)

I'm scared to show it, but it's open to the public.

Only one day on there, but as you acknowledge, not good reading.

I think you will get some great advice on here

On the do not over complicate theme, and one day is not a guide, it jumps out you are eating loads of processed foods, now may be yesterday was unique in some way, and anyone seeing what I ate over the last week would rightly be horrified

First stop would be start by cutting out processed foods & fizzy drinks. No need to do it overnight, just try & reduce them in favour of fresh vegetables & fruit
