Runners: Just say no to sidewalks

    I always run in the road, against traffic. I tend to be courtious and will hop on the curb if need be but all of my running is on the shoulder of the road. Just make sure you are visible!

    Same here. I run in our neighborhood and keep to the side on the road. The pavement is a little softer than concrete and better on your joints. Our sidewalks often have varying slopes and sudden transitions at driveways and crosswalks. It's just not safe unless you are constantly looking down for every step. Plus there are so many people with too many cars in the driveway, sticking out totally blocking the sidewalk. Our roads are crowned a little but so far I don't think it has affected me.
