Alli

I've kinda tried it once before, well before I actually set myself on the path I needed to be on, but now I am thinking about giving it another real shot. I've lost about 90lbs since March 2011, but I've been having trouble ever since I hit my goal weight of 180. This weight just seems to be where my body wants to be, but I'd really like to try to get to at least 160, maybe 150 to be a "healthy" weight range. I don't remember ever being that thin......
Anyways. Thinking about adding Alli into the mix within the next few weeks once I get myself back into a routine. I'm pretty good at keeping things lean as it is, since I've been doing things that way for almost 2 years now, and I just think that it might help get these next 20-30lbs off.
Anyone else use it? Do you think it really helps or would it be a waste of $? Any input appreciated, thanks!

Happy pooping! On a serious note, you will be wasting your money...Check your macros, do something new in the line of exercise, like starting to lift weights if you are not doing that...Alli makes you poop out excess fat - you do not need a pill to threaten you to eat well - you have a brain and a will and MFP....And you lost NINETY pounds without pooping too much(I hope!)0

If you are already eating low fat you might be deficient in fat soluble vitamins or essential fatty acids which you risk worsening if you take a fat blocker, in fact you might get the best results switching up your macronutrient balance to ensure you take in plenty of healthy fats. Weight management is far from as simple as dietary fat making you fat: there are links between abdominal fat and vitamin D and long chain omega-3s levels for example.0

First...congrats on your weight loss and commitment to continue losing. As for Alli, I took it for awhile and it was horrible. I have issues with my gastric system and Alli made it worse. Needless to say I can't take it. So...if you ingest any fat you will have issues too. I agree that you have lost this much with diet and exercise and we all hit plateaus. Try changing up your routine and like others have said, add weightlifting to your exercise. You will see better results with that than with a pill. Good luck.0

Perhaps if this doesn't work, you can do it the easy way:
Find out your BMR (the least amount of calories you should eat per day)
Find out your TDEE (the total number of calories your body uses for all your daily activities & exercise)
Deduct up to 20% from the TDEE figure to find your daily calorie goal ensuring it is above your BMR
Then, the easier part...
Eat the things that you are likely to be able to eat for the rest of your life, as this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. Just log everything and ensure that you keep under your calorie goal and within your macro settings and you will lose weight.
And to make it even easier, fellow MFP'r Helloitsdan has brought together all the information and calculators you will need to achieve the above on the following link:

Oil slick!! I have some pretty funny/gross Alli stories ... but on a serious note, it does block not only fat, but vitamins and nutrients from entering your system. Also, if you take medications, it can interfer with their absorption. It's a nasty little drug with some very nasty sideeffects ... that's why it will help you cut back on your fat consumption. If you are already eating low(er) fat, IMHO, it's not worth the stained (expensive) undies and possibly nice pants ... hey, it was only supposed to be a silent, private, little toot, not an orange oil slick that got on my undies, pants and my leather office chair. Soooo grosssss!!!0
