Getting close to my goal and thinking of adjusting calories

Hi Everyone,
I am 8 lbs away from my goal weight, after a 21 lb weight loss which I am very excited about! Recently, well mostly this week, I have been sooooo hungry and have not been able to exercise as much as normal because of bad weather here in PA (currently do not have a gym membership). I don't know if it has anything to do with the Christmas holiday and eating too much, maybe had a boost in my metabolism. Anyway, I am thinking of adjusting my goals from 1 lb per week (1530 cals) to .5 lb per week (1780, I think). Just wondering what your thoughts were on this...doesn't really matter to me how fast I look these last 8 lbs.

I read that within 10lbs of your goal you should adjust your weekly loss to .5lbs/week.0

More than 75 lbs: 2 lbs/week
40-75 lbs: 1.5 lbs/week
10-40 lbs: 1 lb/week
Less than 10 lbs: 0.5 lb/week0 -

Really, I wonder why?0 -
The less body fat you have the less you can lose per week without sacrificing muscle. You want to keep your muscle, as much as possible. I adjusted mine when I got down to 10 lbs above my goal weight and it worked great.0
