Got a crazy question. Some people wax the chin or upper lip area. I used to use NAD, and then I started to use a Sally Hensen wax. But now it comes in thick and in other areas on my chin that no hairs were in before. When I used NAD I never had a problem of it coming in thicker, but it would take me 1/2 hr to get the hair to come off. Is there maybe a natural remedy that will not thicken more hair growth than that is already there? Please Help Me!!!

  • sorry, not sure on that one. Duct tape will take the hair off but it will also take some skin. Not for the faint at heart. LOL Just keep the hair and see how long it takes to grow it long.

That's odd because waxing doesn't cause more hair folicles to appear. Not sure if there are home remedies. Try waxing every 4 weeks to get the hair in the anagen phase.

For hair that changes like that, it is generally hormonal. You can talk to your doctor about getting a prescription cream.

    Or laser.

Now that you say that my hormones were unbalanced so I've been taking some vitamins to balance my hormones. I bet you this is what is causing it but even this year I sense it (my hormones changing) with getting a little older now. Maybe I'll continue to use it and ask my doc when I see her.

    ^Ditto.
  • Try using an epilator. I don't have that problem, but I do use it on my under arms.

I guess your new wax doesn't take hair off with the roots but actually breaks the hair keeping the roots inside. That's why your hair gets thicker.

I go to a wax salon and have all my body and face done so I can't recommend a waxing kit for home. But probably you can go back to the previous brand or system you used.

She beat me to it.... I was going to say an epilator may help... I ordered one recently and I am excited to try it out on my legs...
I can hardly notice the hairs above my lip, so I don't bother with that.

That won't cause the hair to get thicker. As somebody previously posted, it has to do with hormonal changes. No form of hair removal will cause the hair to grow in thicker.
