How to get back on track after Christmas?

So, over the last year I've basically maintained at the same weight (140lbs), give or take a 1-2lb on either side of that number. I have essentially eaten anything and everything and stayed that weight, eaten healthy and stayed the same, worked out, not worked out etc. and stayed the same - you get the picture?

I was doing well at the start of December, and then from Christmas day onwards it's been a downward slope. The worst part is, I'm not even bothered, I know I'm still the same weight as I was at the start, I still look the same, my clothes still fit the same, and I know if I gain a lb or 2 that it will be water retention and the next morning I can be back down by upping my water.

Because of this, I've had no motivation over Christmas to even try and get back on track. I have ordered my polar ft4 to make the most out of my workouts, and I am going to get them in every morning before people wake, so I've no excuse of "I have no time" anymore.
I know that after a few weeks of getting into this I'll be back to my old self again - health and fitness wise.

It's just, I have a NYE party tomorrow night, then a family 3-course, going out to somewhere nice, lunch the next day. So I know I'll be over those two days too - but again, I'm not even batting an eyelid.

Anyone know any ways to regain some motivation/determination again since I know that I can swither between being good and being bad food intake, both kcals and content, wise and I won't be affected?

Just keep at it. I don't classify these things as good or bad, I call it life and I keep on doing my best to be healthy and fit. Don't let this calorie counting thing get too much in the way of you!

    Good luck

Write out specific and concrete goals, e.g. do 20 pushups by X date, sign it, and put it someplace noticeable as a visual reminder to stay focused and motivated. Fill your fridge and cupboards with the food that makes you feel energetic and healthy, and keep out anything that doesn't. It's hard though doable to get back on track, and it sounds like you will be just fine. Best of luck!

It's harsh and a bit graphic, but hey, it's what works for me.

Also, in terms of motivation on a reward-basis, I have s reward system set up for myself...

+daily yoga routine or weights (+1)
    +walk, 30min minimum (+1p30min/-1<30)
    +weighing self (+1/-1)
    +logging calories (+1/-1)
    +Bonus! Staying -1300 calories = +1

Then, with that money, I get to buy something totally indulgent (not food) for myself. Sometimes the health is a reward in and of itself, but when it isn't, this stuff keeps me going.

Good luck and happy new year!
