My story isn't very different from many of you here. Overweight since I was a teenager, now almost 30 years old and was nearing 300 pounds. At 280 lbs, I decided enough was enough and that I was NOT going to join the 300 club.

In the past month, I have drastically changed my diet. No more soda, and drinking nothing but water. The biggest change has been knocking out fast food. No more do I go for something quick and convenient. I'd rather cook my own meal or have a sandwich than resort to fast food. It makes a huge difference! And to be perfectly honest, I don't miss it one bit. Counting calories really has kicked me into gear and has helped me make so many better choices!

Since I joined MFP a month ago, I am down nearly 20 pounds. I know that seems a bit drastic, but considering my starting weight I know it was bound to be fast at first. I'm enjoying seeing the big numbers now, but I know that things will start to slow down soon. But no matter, I am in this for the long haul!

What I am doing:
- 1800-2000 calories a day.
- Not drinking my calories. Water, water, water!
- Adding many more fruits and veggies to my diet.
- Absolutely no fast food -- cooking every evening, something healthy (skinnytaste.com is a personal favorite).
- No mindless snacking! Cucumbers are my go-to snack when I want something to munch on.
- Trying to get off my butt more often!

My biggest hurdle at the moment is that last point: getting off my butt. As a gamer, I spend a fair amount of time in front of the computer or television. I don't have a gym membership, and our neighborhood isn't good for walking. However, I do have Your Shape: Fitness Evolved on the Xbox and I plan to use that more often. No more excuses! I did it tonight for 30 minutes and burned 164 calories. It wasn't a lot, but it is a start. I need to make time to do it every day for 30-60 minutes, and aim for more calories burned every day. Trying for 200 tomorrow!

Long story short -- New to MFP, and I'm ready to make this happen. I have 100+ pounds to lose, and I'll lose it! I want to get healthy for me, for my husband, and our future children.

Feel free to send me a friend request if you'd like -- if anyone else plays Your Shape, or if any of you ladies are TTC but have had trouble due to the weight (or who had trouble in the past), I'd love friends in order to stay motivated.
