Which exercise/work out video etc. is the best

In your opinion what is the best way to lose inches and/or pounds? Years ago, I used Slim in 6 and it seemed to work but I'm looking for a long term exercise program. Weights or no weights? Bicyle or no bicycle... I'm so confused as to how to get started.

Jillian Micheals has some great workout videos. The 30 day shred is good and Ripped in 30. Each of those workouts are about 30 minutes with warm up and cool down. those have a mix of cardio, strength and abs. If your looking for something with less impact you coulld try Leslie Sansone, she has walking videos.

If videos are your thing, then build a small library of them. There are a lot of options out there, and I wouldn't say any one is better than the rest. The best workout is the one you actually do. Having variety will keep you from getting bored. Also, you can check out youtube and try out some of the workouts and videos before you buy them. There are also some fitness "videos" that are only available on youtube.

Great idea about a small library of work out videos. That way I can do whichever one I'm in the mood for, or whatever I have time for. As long as I get some sort of work out in, right? My husband and I have both put on a lot of weight over the past year and we really need to get with a lifestyle change and stick to it. He enjoys running and biking, but it's 20 degrees out right now. LOL. Last year our "New Years Resolution" was to quit smoking, and we did.... it'll be a year in April. Now our "2013 New Years Resolution" is to get healthy... Any thought are appreciated.

I LOVE Jillian DVDs. I was doing the two mentioned above for months. I did 30 Day Shred in August, Ripped in 30 in September, then alternated both of them along with two ballet classes per week after that. I got 5 new Jillian DVDs for Christmas (I guess my family knows that I love her? haha) and I've been having a blast doing them. The best burn so far is Banish Fat Boost Metabolism (52 minutes, 566 calories for me) but 6 Week 6 Pack and Ripped in 30 make me the most sore. These videos have done so much for my fitness and I'm so thankful because I hate the gym. I never thought it would be possible to get a strong, fit body without going to the gym. Love ya Jill!
  • If you like Jillian, you've got to try No More Trouble Zones. I did that one a few years ago, and nothing has come close. Banish Fat is awesome, but in a different way.

To the OP: If you're just starting out, you may want to look at some Ellen Barrett dvds. Low impact and easy flowing.
