I started on my weight loss journey almost 8 years ago when I finally bought a scale and when I got on weighed 315lbs. WOW! So I decided it was time to do someting, went on the Atkins diet and lost 70lbs in four months. Since then I have been off and on that diet and trying various different tactics to try to lose weight. About six months ago the love of my life walked away from me and broken hearted I lost another 45 pounds (I had gained back some of the 70) in very short order and decided hey if it will come off like this with no effort I may as well put some energy into this and get back to work on me.
On another note, I gave up carbs for lent (well staying around 20-30 carbs a day) and in the past 8 days have lost 11 pounds. Right now I am losing a pound a day which seems extraordinary but I'm not complaining. I had been stuck at the same weight for several months and am feeling now that this reinvestment and extreme diet change is what my body needed to get back into gear. I plan on doing this until Easter and then slowly reintroducing good carbs back into my diet so as not to shock my system. My goal is to get down below 200lbs which would be a first for me since about high school. I need to get back to my gym routine but have been sick the past few days and am having a hard time finding the time with work, school and being a single mom to 3 kids. I am definitely motivated to do this and want to follow through with my promise to myself regarding exercise 3 times a week. I am feeling pretty excited that I can do this, summer is just around the corner and I live at the beach, it sure would be nice to be able to wear a swimsuit and not feel like a total cow this year!
