The 3 %

My resolution this year is to work out at least 260 days this year. That's an average of 5 days a week. If I work out ONE hour a day, 5 days a week, that's 260 hours out of the 8760 hours we have every year. Does that sound like a lot?
Well guess what? That all boils down to just 3% of my time. THREE PERCENT!
Can you spare 3% of your year to completely change your life? To improve not only your body, but your mind?
Yeah... that's what I thought.
Now get to it! Day 1 starts NOW!

I see your 5 days at an hour and raise you 1 day and another hour for a total of 6 days a week, 2 hours a day.0

That's pretty good!! Averaged out over a week, I do 6 days X 1.5 hours.0 -
A great resolution to start the year! Remember that most people set goals too ambitious or difficult to achieve and thus fail at some point in the year. Given the up and down of the gym membership I have seen over the past couple of years. I would say most bail before Valentines Day.
My "secrets" for keeping resolutions, no matter when they commence. #1 Make it manageable. Take small bites and make it part of your routine. Once you have digested the change, add something new. Additional time, a performance goal or some new activity. Remember that we can add to our routines at any time. For me, setting smaller, psychologically achievable goals. Allows me to get the feeling of accomplishment and the encouragement to continue setting the bar higher. #2 And equally important, HAVE FUN!! Going to the gym, participating in a class, heading out for a run or bike ride, etc, etc, should be fun. If exercise does not bring a level of happiness it almost certain that failure will be the result.
I wish success in meeting your 3% goal for 2013!0 -
That's a good way to think of it. But leave me alone until I finish my coffee. :laugh:0
