Happy New Year Everyone! While I know some people don't like the idea of starting this on New Year's Day, I like the idea of having a clean slate so to speak. I actually have "started" several times and while I am still better off than at the very beginning, I still have so far to go. I initially joined in May weighing about 250lbs, having already lost a bunch of weight and now I am back at 275 lbs - lots of excuses but ultimately, no one to blame but myself. I re-introduced myself a couple of day's ago and I know just by tracking what I was eating over the holidays, it kept me accountable. I didn't over do it, but I also had whatever I wanted (or think I wanted) in moderation.
Thank you to everyone who has posted their stories and pics. What a difference a year can make! If you only knew how much they can motivate us. I hope I can contribute to the list. I would love to be in "Onederland" this time next year, a place I haven't been in 16 years, but that seems huge to me right now. Baby steps - I'll be happy with whatever as long as I know I have done what I could. I turn 50 this year (ouch!) and my birthday is 14 weeks away. I would like to lose no less than 14 lbs and hopefully closer to 20 by then. Definitely doable if I keep focused and remember that you were all in the same boat only a year ago!
Ideally, I am hoping for a minimum of 5 - 8 lbs/month - I think this is realistic. Thoughts? Anyhow, have a great day everyone - hope you only have a wee bit of a headache this morning!
