Gym nightmare

You guys think you have it bad with the noobs on your machines playing on their phones.
I put my phone in a cubby at the gym behind my bottle of water. Within 5 minutes two boys went up to it so I walked behind them and they scurried off. Not after finishing my first set (arms) a grown man walked up, grabbed my bottle of water and phone (clearly a more seasoned thief) than was promptly confronted in the face with screaming Shelsea. There was about 20 cubbies and three being used, so it was not an honest confusion. I guess all three of them failed to realized the gym is surrounded by mirrors so even with my back turned I was watching their every move. This gym was also in OKC as I work there but live in Norman currently. I missed part of my workout (abs) because I didn't want to get on the circuit for fear of having property stolen. I did double cardio, and finished the arms. I was so mad. Shelsea's workout time is a special short time that she can alter her perception, abilities, heal and strengthen herself. It's never been bothered, of all the gyms and all the visits in Norman, no one ever did this, all within 5 minutes!

They don't have locking lockers?0

Oh my goodness, that's crazy! I'd be so mad. Thank goodness you noticed and your stuff didn't get stolen though.
Your gym doesn't have lockers or anything? At my gym we have cubbies that lock, and lockers in the locker room.0 -
sometimes people suck. I feel for you! glad you confronted the jerks!
is there a locker room with lockers you can put your stuff in?0 -
Do not mess with "Iceland Asa"!0

Put it in a locker!
I live in an affluent area and still I would never leave my iphone unattended. People steal everywhere! You could also get gym pants or shorts with pockets.0 -

I live in OKC. Do you work out at the Y?0 -
Get a little bag with a bike lock and put everything in there. Keep it next to you!0
-
I put all my things, except for my water bottle and towel in my locker. But the other day I put my towel and water bottle down in the changing rooms while I went to swim, when I get back, the towel was there, but not the water bottle! Its just a cheap plastic bottle, why on earth would anyone want to steal that?!?
Live and learn, next time I'll take my bottle "pool-side"0 -
Bless your heart, what's up with Oklahoma. My boyfriend lived there and it seemed to be the way of the people there. Guess you could just leave everything in the trunk of your car.0

Get an armband and spit in your water bottle.0

To the OP, bring a light bag. Use an arm band. Don't bring your phone unless it's your music player.0 -
A gym friend had a pair of shoes stolen whilst in the gym. She had taken them out of her locker after changing, put them on the floor whilst changing, and someone swiped them when she had a her back turned.0

Oh wow, good thing you confronted the B I T C H0

My gym urges people not to leave valuables in locked lockers. If you are leaving your phone lying around in a public place, that means you are planning to go phone shopping soon.0

I put my phone in my bra.0

I imagine you came to the gym in a car. Perhaps the phone is best left there. As for the water bottle, keep it with you!0
-
At my gym they have 2 video monitors aimed right on the cubbies. Nothing ever gets stolen - even if it is left for days! Well, once an idiot left (as in forgot) his Rolex in a cubbie (who does that?) and it was taken - but after the "culprit" was confronted he claimed to only be keeping it safe and returned the watch.0
-
A typical smart phone costs $600 (without contract). If you set $600 cash in a cubbie at your gym would you be shocked if someone ran off with it? If someone mugged you are picked your pocket I'd have some sympathy. But if you set valuables out in the open then whatever happens, happens.
It's your job to protect your property. Do a better job.0 -

erm yeah.
Also, why are people bringing more then a water bottle into the gym? Leave your stuff in your trunk.0 -

Put your valuables in a locker with a lock, leave them in your car or keep them with you. Leaving them out in the open is an invitation to be stolen. Also how can your put 100% focus in your workout if you have to watch your valuables like a hawk.0
-
Can't you just bring your water bottle and phone with you? When I was at a regular gym I brought my water bottle with me to each machine and I put my phone in the waistband of my pants (don't have a holder for it) so I can listen to my music as I workout. That would completely solve your problem. I would never leave my phone out in public away from me cause it surely would get taken.0

Put your valuables in a locker or leave them in the car.
Problem solved.0 -
I have reread the post and it makes a little more sense now
OKC - A place.
Shelsea - The OPs real name I presume.
Cubbies - Some kind of cubicle in the gym to store things? We don't have them in my gym, we use lockers.
The people moving things - The OP presumes they were planning on stealing said things.
As others have said, don't leave your phone laying around, of course it would be nice if we could trust people to be honest but our properties are our responsibility ultimately. Leave it in the car, put it in a locker or if you need it with you in the gym buy an arm band or some new workout pants with a pocket big enough to keep it in etc0 -
Our gym only has cubby holes/shelves for stuff too (I have no idea why they don't have lockers). I keep my jacket and maybe my keys in one and then I keep my cell phone and water with me at whatever station I'm at.0

The gym does have lockers, so I can bring a lock and lock it up, which is what I'm going to have to do. Also an arm band for the phone would be cool too.
I LOVE the Y in Norman! It has a hot tub, pool, two saunas, free child care. It's really my favorite. I'm going to try to get turned back on there through my employer OU. It's super safe, in fact one time I left a new pair of sparkling Nike running shoes there and they were in the lost & found two days later. Not behind the counter, but a big bin in the hall. They also provide towels and laundry service.0 -

I don't know another word for cubby, but I'm from the south so maybe bin? Doorless locker?
I am Shelsea, Oklahoma City is OKC.0
