I have been hearing alot lately that dark chocolate is the best chocolate to eat. So far I've stayed away from it but I think it would be better for me to find the best option (healthiest) and indulge in it once a week or so, plus I'd love to bring my wife a nice treat once and a while as she is also a chocolate lover.

Can anyone tell me what the best dark chocolate is, I'm guessing it's not even a chocolate bar but more like a chunk or something from a health food store or Bernard Callebaut or something.
THx
:P

Yes, Dark Chocolate is full of Anti-oxidants. You want to get a good quality and at least 70% cocao. It will taste a little bitter, but is an aquired taste you will get used to and will probably even really like if you don't already. A one ounce peice is a good amount. It is also a healthy fat.

Do you have a "10,000 Villages" store in your area? I love their dark chocolate. It's more expensive so I'm not tempted to eat lots (I'm cheap :blushing: ) and it's Fair Trade and organic. Win-win all around!

PS: As an alternative, Lindt has various dark chocolates with different (but pretty high) cocoa content.

Yummmm I go for the ones with 60% or more cacao. Right now I am eyeing a "Green and Black Organic" one with peanuts and sea salt. I have tried Ghirardelli though, and it's good. I have also tried a little higher end ones...you really can't go wrong! They have a sections of specialty chocolates at the market I go to, and I just choose one from there most times. Be careful though, they still have tons of sugar and calories in them. Just eat a square every once in awhile and you'll be golden.
