Had my first cheat meal

Last night I went out to dinner with my husband alone for the first time in 13 months. Its not often we can get a babysitter and family lives far away. My friends watched our two boys last night and we went off to a local casino for dinner and a little gambling. This was my first "cheat anything" since I began on Jan 2nd. I still behaved myself by limiting things to small portions. I completed my food diary this morning (I was too tired when I got home last night) and the best I can tell, it looks like I still did pretty well. Right around my calorie goal. I got in a great workout yesterday and one this morning.

It was wonderful to spend time alone with my husband. Its not often we can with deployments and hectic schedules, you really take for granted what a quiet dinner for two can do to ones frame of mind.

And for all those curious. We were up in roulette for a while, and bet big right before we had to leave and get the kids, and lost. No matter, it was worth every penny.

  • It's ok to have a cheat here and there. Sounds like you did really well and you stayed aware of what you were eating. I have one here and there, and it makes me feel good to know that I can do that and not get off track and lose sight of what I want. It makes me feel good knowing I have the control. Way to go.
Sounds like you had fun too. You deserve to have that too.

Sounds like a great night!!! I love date nights and long awaited cheat meals! Glad you got a night out! We don't get many either since having our 2 girls.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I am also finding that my "cheat meals/days" aren't even close to what my normal days used to be. Even when I tell myself I can cheat I will put the info in later and usually end up where I need to be anyway - not that the quality is as good but it's so funny how much better I am eating even on cheat days. ;) Glad you could have a fun day night!
  • Sounds more like a treat meal than a cheat meal. Cheat indicates guilt! Don't be guilty it's not like your doing this regularly :p
