I'm not talking about the cup of coffee, but the plain jane water. I remember someone saying you should drink half your weight in ounces of water. So if I'm 215# i should drink 108oz each day?

You should drink enough to not be thirsty and your urine should be a very pale yellow. We get lots of fluid from our daily intake of foods and drink so there's no need to consume large quantities of water as well.0
