Hey everyone!!
Which is better calorie-wise? A glass of red wine or a glass of white wine? And does the type or red or white wine make any difference?

Depends on the type of wine. Some reds can be very high in sodium, while some whites are shockingly high in sugar.

A white wine might have 5 or 10 fewer calories per serving. Red wines have been linked to heart and cardiovascular health. Really, though, it's not much difference. Go with what compliments your food.

I'm a RED (Merlot or Cabernet) wine drinker.... drink it with everything....White is too sweet for me....
  • What about a dry white wine compared with red wine?

I'm a white drinker all the way. I like the sweetness. The only way I can drink red is if I've already been drinking or if I throw fruit into it to make it Sangria!

That said, I know there are a few white wines listed here on MFP as far as calories etc go. (I know this because I make sure to track them in my calories when drinking.) Not sure if there are reds though...

Try this website and look up the wine that you want to drink
I personally like both white and red wines

Anywhere from a sweet reisling to a full bodied merlot
