Happy New Year... all I am looking for a detox for the new year that will cleanse and reset levels. I have PCOS so I my hormone levels are already off. I thought a good detox would be a good thing to try.... but not sure which one. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks

Your body does just fine detoxing and keeping all systems working all on it's own. Just eat healthy foods within your budget and your organs will take care of the rest.0

Er, what is this "resetting your hormones with a detox" business? Your hormones aren't a video game console. They don't just "reset." Even if you went on Lupron or other pretty drastic hormonal meds, those aren't "resetting" your hormones.0 -

Some are dangerous, some are deficient in a raft of nutrients and calories which puts the body into a state of stress. Famine or highly restrictive diet? The human body cannot tell the difference. The less food you eat the more your digestive system slows down so you will be eliminating out less rubbish, letting it all fester for days instead, giving your body time to reabsorb waste hormones instead of sweeping them out when you poop.
IMO the best thing you can do for your body is stop eating any refined/ processed/ junk/ sugary stuff, start eating a wide variety of nutrient dense wholefoods - oily fish, fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils - there are deficiencies associated with diabetes and PCOS. Lots of minerals, vitamins, fibre, essential fatty acids especially long chain omega-3s.0
