Calories in human blood?

I have a friend who is a vampire and says he can't lose weight to save his life. I told him about MFP but he said he couldn't find any of his foods in the database. Does anyone know the caloric content of human blood?

Also, like, which humans (or other animals) might be better food choices for him? He said he's tried sticking to eating only rail thin people, obese people (homeopathic style), from all different races, etc, and hasn't seen a difference.

He's also tried going vegan with stuff like mushroom gravy but it just makes him sick so that isn't an option.

PLEASE HELP!

From what my friend tells me, feeding on fae feels like kissing your sister.

Tell him that worrying about calories isn't doing him any favors, he should really focus on micronutrients like iron and B12.

All the negative blood types. They called them that because they're negative-calorie silly!

All the vampires from back home avoid people with high sugar levels in their blood when trying to lose weight. Your friend should start checking medical records before feeding.

Firstly blood is mostly water but anyway (55-60 % plasma)

but anyway here's a very rough calculation for one litre volume of blood it will weigh about 1.06kg, plasma's about 7% protein, 1 gram of protein is about 4 calories.

So about 0.17 calories are convertable for blood protein.

Normal blood sugar is about 0.9 grams per litre.

So about 2.16 calories from sugar.

There's about 5 grams of fat per litre.

So about 45 calories from fat.

haemoglobin is about 160g per litre ( you wont be able to convert all the acids)

    So about 614 calories.

    CBA about the other 10%

661.16calories/litre of blood. But if the vampire has the same-ish type of metabolic pathways they would only get 10% maximum of these calorites but since they are dead they have no metabolic need, so probably only need a small amount of calories.

Ugh this made my physically ill. But I bet if you have someone with a high triglyceride level they would have a more calorically rich blood.

Blood makes you fat its like diet soda, corn syrup, and carbs.

I edited it, also a vampire on MFP (1200 calories) so they need about 5.5U of blood or 2.5 litres.
