So I keep finding myself snacking late at night. I know that late night eating leads to weight gain. Any suggestions on how to curb my appeitite? I was thinking more fiber and protein through out the day..?

Late night eating doesn't cause weight gain if you're not overeating.

^ This. If you are eating because you are bored, find something better to do. If you are eating because you are hungry, eat more during the day - spread out your calories so that you have some to play with at night.

    ^^ THIS

If you are adhering to a strict calorie deficit (weight/measuring everything accurately to ensure you are at a calorie deficit) then timing of your meals does not matter. For personal preferance, however, some may sleep better on a full stomach, while others sleep better on an empty stomach.

I always have a snack before I go to bed (last night it was an ice cream sammich) and this does not cause me to gain weight. Eating at a caloric surplus causes weight gain.
