What are the foods you must have in your fridge/freezer/pantry at all times? I'm trying to build a no fail grocery list. Thanks

    Rice
    Potatoes
    Yogurt
    Milk
    OJ
    Bread
Snacks for the kids - gold fish, chips, cookies

I try to buy my proteins in bulk and just freeze them.

Chicken, chicken and more chicken :)
    Eggs
    Greek Yogurt
    Fresh and frozen vegetables
    A little fruit
    Peanut Butter
    Cottage Cheese
    Wheat Bread

Those are the staples anyway. I also make large quantities of different Soups and Chili that I freeze in small lunch size containers.

I plan out meals for the week and build the grocery list from that. The only extras I add are milk, yogurt, fruit, and bread.

Fridge: milk, butter, eggs, cheese, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, thawed meat for that night's dinner, thawing meat for the following night

Pantry: peanut butter, bread, pasta, rice, flour, sugar, oatmeal, seasonings/spices, shortening, cooking oil

Freezer: a couple weeks worth of meat, ice, veggies
  • Apples , grapes , bananas , peanut butter , eggs, egg beaters , 2% shredded cheese . Cottage cheese , turkey breakfast sausage , turkey bacon , sugar free jams , Greek yogurt , 35 calorie whole wheat bread , I can't believe it's not butter spray , white popcorn to air pop , ground turkey , boneless skinless chicken breasts , lean ground beef . Lettuce , tomato , broccoli , sweet potatoes , mushrooms , onions .
  • I also plan out meals. Its great because my husband and daughter love trying new, healthy foods! I also buy my meats in bulk but some things we try to keep are "seasonal" and this is because we try to buy local but that doesn't always work in Wisconsin.
Right now we have lots of:

    Citrus
    Bananas
    Lettuce
WHOLE grain bread w/o corn syrup
    Apples
    Baby Carrots
    Eggs (always!)
    Beans (always a must!)
    Peanut Butter
    VCore Protein Powder
    Old Fashioned Oats
    Flax seed/meal
Stonyfield Whole Milk Organic French Vanilla Yogurt (I don't like mushy fruit and greek yogurt is not great to me)
