Logging food

I know it is supposed to get easier with time but it seems like so much work logging all of my meals. Breakfast is easy because I usually have the same thing. But lunch and supper is usually homemade with many ingredients and changes day to day...this is why I tend to log only breakfast...

Does anyone have any tips to make it easier??

You could add in recipes so that if/when a meal pops up again in rotation for lunch or dinner, you can add that again without going through adding in everything. I find that by having to add in meals, to make the worse less complex, I eat less complex things. I also have a tendency to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch most days because I prepare 3-5 days worth of meals in advance, so I can log basically the same things every day.

The "recipes" function makes it a lot easier. It can be a pain but it does save me time down the road. It's just one of those things you gotta keep up with.

I use the recipes function and I use the phone app so I can scan the barcodes. It's a lot of work to put in the recipe initially but then every time you eat that, you'll already have it and just have to tweak it for what you put in this time around.

Also you could have mini receipes food combos that you always put together for example onions, peppers and celery.

It does seem to get tedious sometimes, but it's worth it in so many ways! I agree with everyone else as far as using the recipes function.

I use the recipe function...It does take a bit of time to add all the ingredients, etc., but at least you know that all of the information is accurate and it's really easy to pull up in the future...Good luck on your journey..!!.. :flowerforyou:

What everyone else said- utilize the recipes feature. Granted, it's a bit more time-consuming making a new one, but, once it's there, it's easy. I usually do it as dinner is cooking, or, if it's lunch, while I'm eating it. My breakfast and lunch are usually pretty similar, so I mostly just use the most recent/favorite tabs, but dinner is another story. I like to be creative, and my husband is a bit of a foodie, so that's usually a bit more complex, and I've found that the recipes have helped. And- I really like knowing the nutritional info on my homemade meals!

It takes me about three minutes per meal. I eat 80% of my foods from home made meals. It's worth it. Are you willing to spend 10 minutes a day logging, or would you rather spend 24 hours a day overweight?
